Taking the Best Pictures to Highlight Furniture

| Blog | July 5, 2010

From Baker Chairs to Ethan Allen sideboards, a picture tells a thousands words. So, how do you take the best picture for Janice’s List?  Really…How do you take a picture that will sell your  furniture!

  1. Digital Camera – Start with almost any digital camera.  The digital cameras are so good today even low end models produce good photos.
  2. Light – Place the item outside or turn on all the lights around it.
  3. Megapixel – Many cameras are 7-10 megapixel, so on your settings place it on your second to smallest setting.  IE.  Smaller is better, so it will load faster for the person viewing the item.
  4. Re-size and Crop for Perfection – Use this site http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ to make the picture better and more accurate.

Whether it’s Henredon, Pennsylvania House or an antique your items will sell faster with good pictures.

Good Luck,
Janice
